Red

Your lips drip heavy with paint
As your brush them against my skin
My skin was a yellow canvas
And your love was an elusive red

We turned into an orange sunset
Of a love that had just begun
I couldn't recognize myself
Now that I'm orange, I can't run

So I accepted the fact
That this is what I am now
But the orange went through darker hues
And I ended up being red

I got so carried away
And I let you consume me
I was never wary of where your lips threaded
Now I lay with the word 'fool' embedded
